Hellboy-- Matte Painting (The Orphanage)
It's the first movie I worked on. I'd been provided church interior model,
used it to render out Z-depth maps, added brick texture and details, 
work with TD, projected the matte painting back onto the model in Maya. 
finished with light beams in separated layers for composting.

Day After Tomorrow-- Concept/ Matte Painting (The Orphanage)
I did the concept for this super dome shot ( upper right image)
I started the painting with a simple building model, because it's a lock shot. 
there is no camera projection. The super dome in the background was effects, not painted.
I am Legend-- Matte Painting (Sony Imageworks)
Matte painting for ruined Time Square shot. It's the master painting for many different angles of this location.
I had models of both side buildings to work with and the background just a flat plane. 
worked with TDs for camera projection in Cinema 4D.

I got the clean plate of the shot (upper right images) added weathering down, damaged the road and added in weeds.
some weeds are mixed with effects to create movements in the shot.

World of War Craft-- Matte Painting (Blizzard Cinematic Team )
This matte painting is for the blood elf shot. I got a low-rez/ no textured model from the game and painted all details on top. 
This is a simple 2D lock shot with no camera projection, even the waterfall on the left is painted with comped mist.
many clouds are on separated layers, so it can be move and warp in composting.


World of War Craft-- Matte Painting (Blizzard Cinematic Team )
This background matte painting is also a simple 2D work, camera projection on curved plan for tilted camera move. 
I painted high line on the cloud in separated layers to create lightning effects in the comp.

Star Craft-- Matte Painting (Blizzard Cinematic Team )  
This is a cave matte painting, no camera projection or model.
